Randy Cartwright is an animation story artist with many years experience in several areas of feature animation production.
After graduating from UCLA he became an animator at the Walt Disney Studios where he had the opportunity to personally work with several of Walt Disney's Nine Old Men animators.
His skills in character performance earned him key animator positions on many Disney feature productions such as The Fox and the Hound, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Pete’s Dragon, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and was the lead animator for the Magic Carpet for Aladdin as well as a lead animator on The Brave Little Toaster.
His sense of comic entertainment let to storyboarding positions starting with Disney’s Hercules. He then became the storyboard supervisor for Dreamwork’s Antz the original Shrek.
Recently he storyboarded and animated on Disney’s The Princess and the Frog and on an as yet unreleased movie for Sony Animation.
He also has extensive computer programming skills and won a Motion Picture Academy technical award for his work as the Artistic Lead for the Disney's CAPS animation production team.
